...e-Portfolio (Teaching Portfolio)...

Based on what I had learned about E-portfolio, there are many kinds of portfolio we can build for our usages. It depends on how we create it and what we want to establishes. This is because portfolios can be our goal-driven by organize collection of materials that demonstrates a person’s expansion of knowledge and skills over time or it can be an evident of individual’s growth and development. For examples, blog, scrap book and so on. E-portfolio stands for ‘education portfolio’ where it must have a content of education such as teaching portfolio. So when we want to built a blog that we can call it as e-portfolio, the content of the blog must educate the reader and have some information about education. Besides, the teaching portfolio is good to be use by a teacher. Why I said so? By using e-portfolio as our way to approach, it allows teaching and learning to be considered in their appropriate context. Additionally, the teacher can add in all the materials that associated with teaching, curricular units, syllabi and writing samples. So the student can get the notes directly from the e-portfolio as their resources. Other than that, the teacher and student can communicate by email or online forum in anywhere and anytime. Indirectly, it involves students to develop communication and writing skills. Furthermore, it more systematic in present our work and easier to be access by a student. It also can attract the student to do e-portfolio as learning portfolio for their usage. But how it can attract the student? When we make e-portfolio, we can design our blog as a creative we are. If the design is beautiful and attractive, it can make the student want to create the blog just same with it. Teacher can provide sometime to teach the student to create and use the blog in a good way. Then, the teacher must give encouragement to student to build their own blog of learning portfolio. So the student will enjoy to learn and can be a creative thinking in doing the blog where it can be remain long last term.

..Simulation and Modelling Through ICT..

Based on what I had learned about a simulation and modelling, both are definitely different. Simulation is the exploration of existing models where it can provide a concrete visual experience of the abstract. For example, by using simulation the students can investigate life processes which are far too lengthy, study complex interactions and simulate manufacturing processes. Other than that, we can use simulation to replace the difficult, dangerous or costly experiments to show the student. For modelling, it is the expression of one’s ideas by constructing one’s own models where it enables students to explore the effects of changing data and relationships of physical systems. Thus it can help student better in understanding of phenomena involved. But we can use both into one lesson. This is because the simulation and modelling can be related to each other according to the topic that we want to teach. It also depends on how we as a teacher plan to use the lesson by going through the process where we must look at the content of the lesson and does it relates to the syllabus. Additionally, we must review the simulation and modelling that we want to use for our lesson as an activity by using the auto play and go through the activity click by click using the interactive mode, carrying out all the interaction. Indirectly, we can see the relation between simulation and modelling in our lesson. When we use a simulation and modelling in teaching a science subjects, we can involve them directly in this activity. Why I said so? When we give an opportunity to them to come out in front of the class and show the movement of modelling, the student will be appreciated and excited to get a new experience in this kind of learning. It will make a student enjoy to study in class and better understand in scientific process and science concepts. Furthermore, it can make more fun and attractive in doing the lesson. Unfortunately, even we had a best simulation and modelling, without an additional explanation about these courseware it can affect the P&P lesson. This is because by extra explanation it can make student clearly understand about the topic that we teach that day. It also will strengthen students’ knowledge. By the end of the lesson, we can conclude by summarize this activity with our own creative idea to make the student really understand for the topic that we teach.

...Amazing Board...

Based on what I had learned about an Interactive Whiteboard (IWB) or we can called it as Smart Board, it usually had been use in some school such as Smart Schools. This Interactive Whiteboard is like a playboard where we can press the button directly at the board. Besides, we also can write on by using a special pen and does not use a maker pen. Furthermore, it is very attractive because the student also can get the opportunity to study with this kind of whiteboard. But before we want to use the Smart Board, we must have installed a Smart Notebook software. This software is like a Microsoft Office Power Point but there are little bit different in it applications. We can see it there are many applications that we can use it for our usage in teaching. It depends on the topic that we want to teach or create it and what we want to show to our students. This is because there are many types of lesson activity toolkits and gallery samplers that we can apply into our slides show. Additionally, it can be recorded as our teaching lesson and it will played automatically if we want to review about the lesson slides show. Indirectly, the teachers can use this application when they want to close the lesson. Although it is complicated in creating the lesson slides show but it will make the P&P become alive and the student enjoy to study. Besides that, it would be more meaningful rather than study just for the examination. Other than that, the teachers can use Interactive Whiteboard to attract the student to come out and try to use the whiteboard as a tool of study. For examples, the teacher will pick a student to form a several group to do the activity by using Smart Notebook and Interactive Whiteboard. They can play with it while they present about the topic that had been given to them. It involvement with their friends and teacher in discussion where enabled to student develop their cognitive, psychomotor and affective domain skills. So it can help student to learn better especially for students who less keen to learn or students who lack of intelligence. Moreover, the student could increase their knowledge and understanding about the lesson and ICT.  In conclusion, this Interactive Whiteboard can be uses as an approach to teach students.

...Better Science Trought Data Logging...

Based on what I had learned about a data logger, we can see that it can give us many benefits especially to teachers and students. When we use a data logger in teaching a science subjects, the students will better understand in scientific experimentation and science concepts. Why I said so? This is because, by using data logger, it more precise and systematic in conduct the experiment. Furthermore, it can make more fun and attractive in doing an experiment. This data logger can measure the reading in every second where is out of our ability to do that. So it can give us more accurately result. Besides, it can use more than one sensor that we want to test but not more than four sensors. For example, we can identify the relationship between pressure and temperature over the time in spontaneously by using pressure and temperature sensors. We also can transfer the data into the computer where the graph can be built from it automatically. Indirectly, we can get more than one graph in one piece of paper with the table of results. Additionally, the students can see the real situation when conduct the experiment and related it based on the result. It make student more understand about the experiment and the topic that continuity to it. Other than that, by using data logger it can shorten our time in teaching that topic. The student can identify the relationship when they see on the graph and can make conclusion directly from it. But at first we as a teacher must briefing about the topic that related with experiment before the students start the experiment by using a data logger. How the teacher can make student more attractive to do the experiment? By give them some issue in context of catchy title. The student must be confuse and wonder to know what the meaning of that title. Then, the teacher can give some question to elicit their prior knowledge about the topic. It can make student excited to know more about that and start to explore it by do the experiment. After they had done experiment, the teacher can enhance their knowledge by make they think in asking them an application question. From the steps, we can see it is wonderful learning session and give a friendly environment to student in learn the topic. The student also will enjoy do the experiment and it will keep at their memory in long last term.

...Teaching Philosophy...

Philosophy is like what we beliefs regarding from our mentality or experience. Other than that, philosophy is what we do in such thing to achieve our goal.
I believe that every subject in education is the backbone of our nation’s strength. Teachers are the most important person that can contribute for our future where the teacher will guide a student to be a better person. This is because the student will lead our world one day.
I believe that firstly teachers must have a huge knowledge and master of their subject matter before teach a student. Besides, the teachers must stay in current with their knowledge from their field. If a student does not get anything about the subject and the teacher does not love their subject, it probably the teacher should not be teaching. This is because the teacher just has a basic knowledge and cannot elaborate further about the topic or subject. Other than that, the teacher not comfortable in teaching and does not know how to teach. It may affect the development of knowledge in student and the student will lag about the topic.

I believe that teacher must expert in every learning technique and know how to use it according to the situation. When the teachers use appropriate technique in their teaching, it can create the friendly environment. There are many techniques such as active learning, contextual learning and cooperative learning. It can help student to understand better about the topic.
I believe that subject science is not easy. This is because there a lot of scientific concept which we must to understand first before we proceed to the other chapter. However, a difficult course does not need difficult teachers. The teachers must create a something different to make the students are challenged to an appropriate level for them and offering support for students to meet those demands.
Finally, I believe that the most important the teachers can instil in their students is curiosity. Science is a process, not a body of knowledge. The most successful scientists ask more questions than they answer. So better ask the questions to the students about what they see, what they thing and encourage them to use their prior knowledge and experience to develop cognitive and psychomotor domain.
I believe in ALLAH, I believe in MUHAMMAD, I believe in MY PARENTS, I believe in EDUCATION, I believe in SCIENCE, I believe in STUDENTS, I believe in MYLIFE. There is no one can change you except you can change yourself.

...Crime and Criminal...

Crime and criminal activities have become an issue of major concern to all Malaysians. Violent and traumatic crimes must be viewed with utmost seriousness not only by the government, our law enforcement agencies and the judiciary but also by our communities ad a whole. The nation's rapid economic and technological development is not matched by moral and human development.

We live in world were information and communication technologies are transforming at a speed we cannot keep pace with. No one can deny the importance of ICT in this information age, but at the ame time we need to realise the necessity to promote the development of morals and values that are essential to make Malaysia a fully developed nation.

Being aware of your personal safety and security is not only confined now to the physical aspect but also concerns cyberspace. There is cause for concern over the rise in cyber crime and degradation of ethical and moral values surrounding the use of computer and software applications. One can fall prey to identify theft and fraud, among a host of other things.

Are we doing enough a as Government, as a community and as a family institution to address these issues?

...Malaysian Smart School...

In 1996, Malaysia identified information and communication technology (ICT) as one of the key foundation for its projected transition from a production-based economy to a knowledge-based economy by 2020. The Smart School initiative is one of the flagship applications that are part of Malaysia's Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) project. The government of the rapid development of the MSC's infrastructure to jump-start deployment of enabling technology to schools. This was done by creating a group of 90 pilot Smart Schools in 1999 that will serve as the nucleus for the eventual nation-wide rollout of Smart School teaching concepts and materials, skills, and technologies. By 2010, all primary and secondary schools in Malaysia will be a Smart Schools.

As senior officer from the Ministry of Education, prepare a presentation to a group of science teachers from Brunei who are interested to know about the Smart School initiatives, focusing on the teaching learning component and the use of technology as enablers contained in the Smart School Concept. You also need to provide an overveiw of the progress made so far and challenges faced since the inception of Smart Schools in Malaysia.
